Why games

From flashcards to game boards

Speech-a-Boo was created to replace repetitive drills with cooperative play. Sound practice used to mean the same card repeated until it felt like a test. Now a child and a grown-up take turns on a board, sorting pictures and sharing sounds together.

Each game keeps the instructions short and the rules flexible, so the activity can shift to the sounds a child is working on that day.

Our foundations

Three ideas behind every game

Every Speech-a-Boo activity follows developmental milestones without rigid clinical pressure, and families can run them at home.

Low barrier to play

Games need only everyday materials and a few clear steps, so a therapist or caregiver can start in minutes.

Flexible sound customization

Each game can swap in the target sounds, words, and pictures a child is working on, without rebuilding the activity.

Stress-free interaction

Turns are short and the goal is shared fun, so practice feels like a game rather than a test.
